Hello, and welcome to the May issue of the Coastal Real Estate newsletter. 

Hopefully the rainy season will bring us a respite from the hot temperatures we have been experiencing throughout Thailand and bring the water that is much needed by the people in the Northeast, who have been especially hard hit by the drought. 

We have had quite a few closings over the past few weeks so hopefully this is a sign that things may begin to pick up. 

Many people think that the high season is our busiest time but in fact the low season seems to attract more serious buyers, so now is a good time to really market your property if you are selling or renting.

Pattaya Real Estate Market

 

 

Last month we asked our readers to take a short survey to get their thoughts about the Pattaya real estate market. 

While we were not overwhelmed with responses we would like to thank those of you who took the time to take the survey. 

Generally speaking there is a slightly pessimistic attitude to the current market in Pattaya and about 33% of those who sold a property in Pattaya over the last 6 months reduced their original price. 

With that said, 40% of those taking the survey who purchased a property within the last 6 months did so for investment purposes, so there are still people looking for solid investments. 

An overwhelming 91% of the respondents feel that Pattaya is overbuilt with condos at the present time. 

Finally, the majority of respondents answering the survey thought that real estate prices would remain steady or increase over the next year and 25% think prices will decline.
