Hello and Happy New Year! We hope you had a happy and safe holiday and wish you all the best in the new year of the rooster.


We think 2017 will be a good year in Thailand with many promising infrastructure improvements on the horizon.

 

A recent article in the Bangkok Post discussed some of the projects on the horizon in Thailand this year. According to the article. “Government spokesman Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd the investment plan will comprise 36 infrastructure projects, covering air, marine and land transportation, worth a total of 895.7 billion baht. “

 

The projects include double-track railways, electric trains which link suburban areas and urban areas, motorways, ports and airports development.

 

One of these projects is the Pattaya – Hua Hin ferry service which was scheduled for its maiden voyage on January 1st but was rescheduled due to high seas.

 

Lt Gen Sansern added that “once the ferry service begins, it will cut the travel time from Pattaya to Hua Hin and vice versa from 4-5 hours to 1 hour and 45 minutes. This will help boost the economies of the two coastal towns.”

 

This will be a nice addition to some of the projects already underway in Pattaya and we hope it is successful.
