The Development of U-Tapao Airport
Aug 21, 2019

U-Tapao Airport
Pattaya International Airport is commonly called U-Tapao and it is situated on the main Sukhumvit Road between Pattaya and Rayong. And landing at U-Tapao you can expect to be in central Pattaya in around 40 minutes.
U-Tapao was originally a military airport and even today it is home to many aircraft of the Royal Thai Airforce and Navy, and is also a hub for servicing both military and commercial aircraft. The runway is one of the longest in Thailand and almost any size aircraft can land and take off.
A new passenger terminal has been built for internal and international flights. Carriers operating from Utapao currently are: Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, AirAsia, Hainan Airlines, Bangkok Airways and Qatar Airways. Plus, there has been a vast increase of chartered flights from China due to the ongoing popularity of Pattaya as a Chinese tourist destination.
The Eastern Seaboard Expansion
U-Tapao is geared up to handle the expansion of the Eastern Seaboard as a business hub of this part of Asia. Many large international companies now have plants and offices in and around the vast industrial estates of the Eastern Seaboard, and having an airport that can handle freight as well as passengers is a major boon to these organisations.
This means an expansion of housing to cope with new workers and the influx of foreign businessmen. This is yet another reason why it is so important to get involved in real estate right now, it is an investment you will not regret.

Aug 20, 2019
Coastal Real Estate have their finger on the pulse of what is happening in the development of the Eastern Seaboard, and that is one of the reasons if you are looking for a house for sale in Pattaya we can give the best possible advice. The Eastern Seaboard has a new title, namely the Eastern Economic Corridor, and this is due to the amount of investment pouring into this part of Thailand. As new international companies have opted to invest in the region with manufacturing plants and distribution hubs, the Thai Government has recognised the need to ensure that the transportation infrastructure can cope. If you are looking to invest in property in Pattaya then contact us today, and our friendly advisors will go through our current listings.
U-Tapao Airport
Pattaya International Airport or U-Tapao as it is better known, is an integral part of the overall plan to improve the transportation infrastructure of the region. Not only has it one of the biggest runways in Thailand, a new passenger terminal has been built expanding the capacity considerably. This means that U-Tapao can also act as the third airport for Bangkok in addition to handling the influx of new charter, freight and business flights coming into the Eastern Seaboard.
Highway 7 Improvements
The major motorway from Bangkok to Pattaya, Highway 7, has improved immensely since it was first built. The highway has reduced commuting time from the capital to the entertainment center of Thailand to under two hours. And the recent extension of Highway 7 that connects directly with Sukhumvit Road at Sattahip means that there will be a direct highway that links U-Tapao with Bangkok. All these developments have meant that many people from Bangkok are now snapping up property in Pattaya as it is a valid weekend destination with low commuting times.
High-Speed Rail Link
For many years there have been plans for a high-speed rail link connecting Bangkok and Pattaya. These now seem closer to becoming realized, and the new travel time has been estimated at just one hour. If this happens it will almost make Pattaya an extension of the capital, and in reality workers could easily live by the sea and commute daily into the city. This would dramatically affect real estate values in Pattaya.
Pattaya City Upgrade
Pattaya City Council understood the need for an upgrade of the highway system in and around the city. This is why the underpass on Sukhumvit was desperately needed. Now traffic flows freely along a section of road that leads directly onto Highway 7. Other major improvements in the inner city transportation network have also been successfully carried out. All this means that the traffic pouring off the motorway does not come to a complete standstill as it previously did. All these developments and plans are being put into place so that Pattaya has a perfect transportation system to carry the city forward in its future growth and success.

Building a Home Gym
Sep 26, 2018
I recently sat down with Andrew Seymour, General Manager at SEARA Sports Systems in Pattaya and talked about home gyms.
Now there are certainly a lot of gyms in Pattaya, in just about every price range and a lot of condo and housing developments have gyms available for the residents. But for various reasons some people prefer to work out in their own homes.
So, my question to Andrew was, what do you tell people who come into your office who want to build a home gym?
I was expecting an answer somewhere along the lines of, you should have a treadmill or bike and some type of multi-station weight machine and some dumb bells. But what Andrew told me the first thing they ask someone interested in a home gym is “what are your goals?”.
It makes perfect sense though. A person who wants to build strength does not necessarily need the same equipment as someone who wants to get into cycling or wants to shed a few pounds, although strength training will help with both. The goal at SEARA Sports Systems is to sell you what you need to achieve your goals and not equipment that will sit around unused in your home.
Other details they will discuss is the amount of space you have available and obviously your budget.
Not everyone will have the space or budget to build a home gym like the one pictured below. But the team SEARA will help you put together something to match your budget and available space.

If you are building a gym in your home Andrew recommends at least 25 square meters as a good starting point.
Before buying equipment, consider the space for your home gym is air conditioning and adequate ventilation. While everybody sweats during a workout (well, mostly everybody) you don’t want to be so uncomfortable you never want to go into the room again after your first workout.
He also recommends the proper flooring. Carpet may look good and seem alright but it can hold a lot of bacteria and odor after a few workouts. Antibacterial rubber flooring is the best and is available in various thickness with the thickest used around the area for free weights and dumb bells so you don’t crack the tile when you drop the weights.
Once you have determined your fitness goals and selected a space it is time to discuss the equipment. This is where the experience at SEARA really helps. They can suggest the equipment that is right for your goals.
In addition to commercial grade equipment, SEARA sells and maintains a full range of equipment to cover every area of home exercise. Each piece of equipment is designed by the world’s leading fitness brands especially for home use.
Their products include cardiovascular equipment: treadmills, bikes, rowing machines, elliptical cross trainers and multi-gyms as well as free weights, dumb bells, kettlebells, fitballs, and more. This is truly one stop shopping for your home gym.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of space. Equipment such as a variable resistance stationary bicycle can assist you in meeting cardiovascular exercise goals in a small space. Stationary bicycles can be purchased with only one wheel, making them even more suitable for small spaces. Variable resistance allows for increased resistance and demand on your cardiovascular system as you become more fit.
Folding treadmills are another option for small spaces. While they they do not provide the excellent user experience the professional models do but they are still useful and let you burn calories while you watch TV. When you’re finished, just fold it up and push it out of the way.
Resistance bands are also great for small spaces. They cheaper than dumb bells, more portable and give excellent isometric movement. Plus, they're easy to pack, which may inspire you to stick to your routine when you travel.
So, if you are thinking of building a home gym or buying some exercise equipment for your condo do yourself a favor and contact Andrew at andrew@searasports.com and arrange an appointment for a consultation. You can also stop by their showroom on Sukhumvit and Chaiyaphruek Road or visit their site to find a showroom near you.
